NBS Television on Friday, the 31st of December, 2021, hosted the second edition of the Pearl of Africa New Year Celebrations (PANYC).
The now-annual crossover event ran under the theme, “Why I Love Uganda,” in a bid to recognize the unique Ugandan culture, her gift of nature, her people, and more.
The 2021 edition set the pace by showing on NBS Television, Sanyuka Television, UBC Television, Magic 1 HD, Baba TV, and also streamed on the Afro Mobile app while bringing forth all the various points of celebration across the nation, It also featured the Jinja Bridge as the peak of the celebration of usher 2022.
It should be noted that the first ever edition of the Pearl of African New Year Celebrations event was themed “I Choose Uganda” and fetched inspiration from the cold political and social pressures that arose towards the peak of the national election season.
Jose Chameleon, Vinka, King Saha, Sheebah Kalungi, Azawi, Winnie Nwagi, Grenade Official, B2C, Irene Ntale were some of the musicians that performed while NBS’s MC Kats and Sheila Salta, UBC’s Calvin Da Entertainer, MC Casmir and Madrat and Chiko hosted the event alongside exclusive DJ’s like DJ Roja, DJ Mercy Pro, DJ El Nicho, Geeman
Envisioning a peaceful Uganda, NBS Television, in liaison with various Ugandan TV stations, shared the peace message through several stage performances broadcasted on NBS Television, UBC TV, NTV Uganda, and Baba TV, crowned with live fireworks at the Jinja Bridge.
