Covid 19 vaccination cards

The Directorate of Traffic Police has directed that all drivers ,conductors and turn boys found operating Passenger Service Vehicles(PSV) must have COVID-19 vaccination cards.

Faridah Nampiima, the Traffic Police Spokesperson says the traffic police will erect various checkpoints to block persons operating in public transport without the Covid 19 vaccination cards.

Last week the Minister for Transport Gen.Edward Katumba Wamala, halted travelers from moving with vaccination cards on grounds that it would be difficult for public transport operators to tell the difference between fake and genuine cards. Gen Katumba did not specify that drivers and conductors should carry their vaccination cards as a requirement to operate.

“To avoid any inconvenience,Drivers conductors and turn boys are reminded to carry their and also to advise their passengers to observe SOP’s like wearing of face masks. Traffic police will be conducting checkpoints for covid19 SOP’s.
