Security guard netted with dead body
A private security guard in Kampala has been arrested at Kawempe Police Station for reportedly murdering a man and trying to dispose the body in a sack.
The suspect identified as Gideon Nabasa, a 31-year-old private security guard Afrisafe Guard company was busted at Kazo Lugoba Zone- Nabweru Division, Wakiso District carrying a human body in a white sack on motorcycle Bajaj.
The suspicious looking guard moving on motorcycle Bajaj reg. no UFG 635P was stopped on Monday morning at 4:30 am by police patrol officers after noticing he was carrying a human like object in the sack.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says a team of investigators who visited the scene found that the body that had two wounds probably resulting from stabbing. He says the body has been conveyed to city mortuary Mulago for a post mortem.

Owoyesigyire says Nabasa, has refused to collaborate with police on circumstances that led him to carrying a lifeless chopped body of a man believed to be in his early 20’s.
“The officers were suspicious of what he was carrying and on asking to search, found a dead body of a male adult suspected to be in his early 20s in the sack and immediately arrested him, Nabasa hasn’t yet cooperated well with the police to help us identify the deceased and where he got the body from,” Owoyesigyire said.
According to the Police Annual Crime Report 2020 compiled by the Criminal Investigations Directorate, 12 people were killed on daily basis through shooting, assault, poisoning, arson, or mob action.
