Baza Baza bounces back with Mama Nyabo

Zzina Awards 2022 Breakthrough Artist of the Year nominee, Baza Baza, is not letting the words “one-hit wonder” become synonymous with his name.

After bossing airwaves last year with his single,“Onina”, whose phrase, “Ba Ex bange bonna baafa”, became a slogan on social media and in town, Baza Baza has released yet another Ragga-dancehall song dubbed “Mama Nyabo”.

Baza Baza explains that he hustled to get a hit but when he did, he learned the formula; To continue recording good music.

“I first did other songs like Sampolo but things didn’t go as I expected. So I hit the studio and did “Onina”, which hit the ground rolling. It was not easy to put out another song of its kind and this is why people were saying that I can not release another hit. I sat down and thought through and wrote this song mama nyabo. I am pleased that it’s trending on social media and I can feel that it’s also a hit,” he said.

Baza Baza, who is undoubtedly raring to go, hopes that Mama Nyabo is welcomed by music fans so that he can mint some dime. He notes that he still got a couple of already recorded massive songs, which he will drop in the near future.

Several singers in Uganda have struggled to release impressive songs after their breakthrough.

Artists like Quex of the “Kachumbali” fame, Ryko D’Lyrical, who sang “City Tycoon” and was given a car by city showy socialite, Don Nasser have all failed to get another massive song to their name.
