Close family members and relatives to the Late Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah have tagged the cause of his death to foul play by unidentified forces.
The Omoro County legislator passed on in Seattle, United States of America where he had been admitted in a critical state since February 3. His death was announced by President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday afternoon.
Now family members and close relatives to the deceased are wondering why the cause of his death remains unknown despite efforts to get a report on what he suffered from. They claim that since his hospitalization, no one has informed them of what the deceased suffered from.
They further allege that circumstances surrounding his death are questionable considering that prior to his treatment abroad, Oulanyah hinted that his life was being targeted.
Nathan L’Okori, Oulanyah’s father says that before he was lifted to the United States, Oulanyah hinted on a sinister move to end his life and repeated the same even while in Hospital.
“I know all of you who have come here are mourners. His (Oulanyah’s) death is not easy news to welcome because I know he did not die of natural causes, he was poisoned,” Mr Okori told handful mourners at their ancestral home in Omoro District.
Milton Omara, 74, Oulanyah’s paternal says that the government needs to clearly explain what exactly killed their son.

Veronica Okori, Oulanyah’s stepmother equally says they don’t have any information on what caused Oulanyah’s death, and adds that ever since Oulanyah was airlifted to the USA, no information was shared with his family about his condition.
“We don’t have any information, we are equally waiting to know from those people who were close to him at the Hospital,” She told URN
Omoro District Chairperson Douglas Peter Okello reiterates that they are equally waiting for the report on the cause of Oulanyah’s death.
“We demand on the basis of a testimony that the late himself said to the people of Omoro district, when he first fell ill and returned to attend one of the burials here, he talked to the people of Omoro district, We want to hear weather his words and what government or the doctors say tally,We have a background and testimony but will remain calm for now, Okello said
The burial program for Oulanyah will be released on Tuesday following a Cabinet sitting today. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja says the President will be announcing burial arrangements.
