Hundreds of christians at mbuya catholic parish,turned up for the way of the cross to celebrate Good Friday.
The way of the cross marks the end of the lent period ,as well as symbolizing the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

Rev father Anthony Kivira Kyibowa, a resident priest at Mbuya Catholic Parish says Good Friday signifies the goodness of the Lord and His love for mankind.

“Indeed it’s a good Friday, we contemplate the goodness of the lord especially the love of God giving his beloved son, so that we may live” he said

Sister Rosemary Muhawuliwana , a reverend sister at Mbuya catholic church, Good Friday symbolizes life and resurrection of Jesus. She further called upon Christians to be strong no matter the challenges in life.
“We commemorate Good Friday because it symbolizes life and resurrection of Jesus, In life there is nothing that has no end ,I tell my fellow Christians to always be strong in their challenges of life”, she said

The Good Friday celebration of the ecumenical public way of the cross 2020, brought together Anglicans, Catholics and Orthodox and was held under the theme “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.”  

Hundreds of Christians walked from different Anglican, Catholic and Orthodox churches around Kampala and converged at different junctions in the city. 

While observing the stations, the different groups of faithful decried several vices disturbing the peace in Uganda and the World at large. 

They pointed at the girl child abuse in Uganda, Gender-based violence and prayed for an end to the violence caused by light weapons and a peaceful disarmament exercise in the Karamojong region.
