Civil Aviation Authority CAA has explained the circumstances under which a passanger plane carrying over 60 passengers slipped off the runway at Entebbe international airport.

The plane RwandaAir CRJ 9 aircraft, flight number 464 remains stuck at the sidelines of the runway since it landed at the Airport on Wednesday morning at 5:31 am. The plane was instructed to land at an alternative runway used for for small and light aircraft.

While investigations are ongoing to establish the cause, sources at the airport blamed poor markings on the new runway and poor visibility instigated by the morning downpour.

In a statement released by CAA, they attribute investigations are still underway to establish the cause of the minor accident although it  has been partly attributed to the heavy downpour this morning and poor markings.
