President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has heaped praise on his wife as a team leader who has caused significant positive change in the Education Ministry.
Education Minister Janet Kataha Museveni was appointed Education and Sports Minister in 2016 after serving as Minister for Karamoja Affairs since 2009.
While flagging off athletes to represent Uganda in the commonwealth games in Birmingham, UK,on Monday, the President said Kataha has solved many challenges in the Ministry because of teamwork and prayer.
Museveni,says “Maama”(Kataha) has displayed great leadership skills using teamwork to solve the different challenges.
“I want to thank Maama because she has brought together this Ministry because of teamwork, she calls meetings, because of this method she has solved many problems and praying,”He said
The president stated that several other ministries and organs of government are in chaos just because those in leadership lack skills of teamwork and think that they are the only ones who can solve every problem.
In response to hubby,Mrs Museveni attributed the said success in her ministry to God, stability and increased financing.
She cited, as an example, how spending on sports increased from Shillings 6.8 billion in the 2015–2016 fiscal year to Shillings 27.67 billion in the 2020–2021 fiscal year, resulting in 180 medals won across a variety of sports.
