Nigerian star Adekunle Gold believes his show at at Lugogo Cricket Oval attracted a huge crowd equivalent to 20,000 party animals!
Chest thumping about his achievement on foreign land, the dreadlocked star took to his Twitter page, which has over three million followers, and tweeted.
“Over 20k people came out to show me so much love! Doing this on the continent first makes me cherish this milestone more. It’s so big to me, I will never be able to take it in fully. Thank you lord! Thank you Uganda for loving me so much. All my love, Tio Tequila,” the 35-year-old entertainer bragged as he thanked his fans for showing him love and support.
UGX 60,000 and UGX 120,000 were the cover charges at the gate for the Ordinary and VIP classifications respectively. Can you do the math, please.
In Uganda, artists like Jose Chameleone, Cindy, David Lutalo and perhaps Gravity Omutujju have managed to pull a bigger crowd at the same venue but at lower entry fees. Chameleone always brags about attracting 40k partiers at his Hit After Hit concert.
Meanwhile at Adekunle’s concert, performances on the main stage got underway at 7pm. Sheebah Karungi, Kataleya and Kandle, Vinka, John Blaq Vamos 256, Dance Mamweta, Ritah Dancehall, Laika, among others, performed.
Deejays Slick Stuart, Roja, Alisha, Dash, and Kasbaby were also in place to compliment the hype from emcees Sheilah Gashumba, Sammy Wetala, Casmir, Zahara Totto, among others.
Adekunle Gold stepped onto the stage at 11:21pm donning a black armless jacket, pairing it with neat pink pants, and black sneakers.
From AG Baby, Something Different, Pretty Girl, Orente, Damn Delilah, Sinner, Okay, he performed his hit songs as the revellers sang along, word for word.
