President Yoweri Museveni, who is also Commander-in-Chief (CIC) of the Armed Forces, has revealed the subject of discussion when he met with and addressed Head Teachers from Lango, Acholi and West Nile sub regions at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds yesterday.
According to the President, he was happy to have opened “this connection with head teachers for it’s our most logical avenue” to reach out to the youth in schools and communities.
The President says he tasked them “to get our people out of sleep” through correct education.
“We want social economic transformation but the right form of education is paramount, the kind of education around the creation of jobs and wealth,” the President revealed.
Prior to convening at Kololo, the head teachers had attended a 10-day retreat for the Secondary School head teachers from Lango, Acholi and West Nile taking place at NALI, Kyankwanzi.
During the retreat, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General, Richard Todwong, challenged the head teachers to work towards improving the quality of education in the country.
