Prophet arrested for flogging believers

A so-called senior prophet in Hoima District has come under fire for flogging a number of his believers during church service. The incident was filmed and shared widely on social media.

Dennis Kintu of Empowerment City Church was filmed holding a long wooden stick, whipping his flock who had lined up to receive miracles from him on Wednesday afternoon.

Kintu instructed his flock to walk to the pulpit one by one starting from the church leaders to receive hard canes or be banished from the ‘Holy’ place. He claimed the miracle stick would unravel miracles, signs and wonders in the lives of his followers.

“All church leaders come, come fast, I am from the Army, you will not take me backwards, these demons must be released by my stick. And anyone who doesn’t receive my cane dont come back to my church, don’t hold a microphone,” Kintu is heard saying as he forces members to approach him and receive their fair share of canes.
