Going by the photos littering social media and congratulatory messages to Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, the ex-Democratic Party man has a new office ride, an upgrade from the old Land Rover.

The photos emerged Monday morning, showing the car parked at the City Hall, where Lukwago’s offices are.

Once the photos emerged, Kasambya Member of Parliament, David Kabanda congratulated Lukwago thus “Congratulations Salongo! Enjoy.”

The photo (or the acquisition), however, comes just months after Lukwago’s comrade in the struggle, Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku, was captured admiring Lukwago’s nice sneakers at a campaign rally.

It was in Soroti when Mukaaku, Lukwago and a number of other opposition political forces camped in Soroti East to hunt for votes in favor of Forum for Democratic Change candidate, Moses Attan.

While Lukwago stood atop of the car, campaigning for Attan – Mukaaku was busy admiring the FDC boss’ (Lukwago is FDC’s first Vice President in charge of Buganda Region) shoe game.

Soon after this photo went up, State House online editor, Nelson Bwire Kapo, joked that “Samuel Walter Lubega ye amanyi kyayagala” loosely translated that “Samuel Walter Lubega knows exactly what he wants”

But if at all Mukaaku’s eyes were on the shoes in admiration, we cannot tell how much he will then admire Lord Mayor’s new ride.
