Kid Dee falls off stage as he tries to wow audience
‘Today is me, tomorrow is somebody else!’ Should we say that it is becoming a habit for Ugandan artists to fall off the stage, lately?
Last weekend but one, it was ‘mad’ entertainer, Roden Y Kabako, who nearly fractured his two legs after falling off the stage while performing at Lugaflo rapper, Gravity Omutujju’s concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Known for his energetic performances, jumping high, walking on top of tables, and chairs, and sometimes on top of his fan’s heads, Kabako was first warned by the stage managers as he stepped on stage but he had none of it. He instead hyped himself and continued with his energetic performance before the stage swallowed him.
Another artist to have faced a similar scenario is Swangz Avenue star, Winnie Nwagi, who had her gold digger heels poke a hole in the stage and her leg subsequently tripping and getting trapped while thrilling her fans in Mbarara last month. Winnie Nwagi’s leg was so deep-trapped that it needed six bouncers to pull her out.
Now the latest victim is the sensational upcoming star, Kid Dee of ‘Ssente Nina’ fame. However, one can argue that Kid Dee’s falling off the stage over the weekend came as a result of miscalculation, unlike other artists.
As he was trying to wow the crowd with the late popstar, Michael Jackson’s famous backslides, Kid Dee somewhat got carried away with the hype, not knowing that he was just near the edge of the stage. Boom! he fell like a sack of beans in the crowd.
