SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv will be counting down the days to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with the tournament set to run from 20 November to 18 December and provide the most thrilling distillation of ‘The Beautiful Game’.
DStv and GOtv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match – it’s literally ‘Unbeatable Football’! If you’re going to spend your money on something, it may as well be on the best football in the world.
Group D features two-time and defending World Cup champions France, as well as Australia, African hopefuls Tunisia and dark horses Denmark, who have been in great form in the past 18 months or so. Les Bleus have the talent to blow everyone else away, but rumblings of discontent could scupper coach Didier Deschamps’ team. If that happens, expect the Danish Dynamite to prosper, while the Socceroos and Carthage Eagles would be delighted to advance in any form.

Players to watch
Kylian Mbappe – The speedy forward is one of the most terrifying players for defenders to come up against and he will be eager to have another great World Cup after his brilliant exploits in 2018.
Mathew Leckie – A versatile attacker or midfielder, Leckie’s experience and nous will be important for Australia if they are to have a chance at advancing beyond the group stage.
Christian Eriksen – The midfielder has recovered from a life-threatening heart attack and is enjoying a ‘second’ career in which he has become an even more effective and beloved playmaker.
Wahbi Khazri – The French based midfielder/attacker is one of Tunisia’s most talented players and will be looking to inspire them with his skill and creativity.
Team to watch
Denmark – The Danish Dynamite have been one of the best teams to watch in recent times, playing a brand of progressive attacking football that has been both effective and entertaining. Add in the fairytale story of Christian Eriksen’s recovery from a near-fatal heart attack, and there will be plenty of neutrals lending their support to the team in red and white.
“We’ve been playing well and getting good results,” said Eriksen of Denmark. “Our good form continued after the Euros in pretty much all of our matches and people were blown away by the attractive football we played and the number of goals we scored.”
