Neymar – After injury in 2014 and disappointment in 2018, Neymar will be hoping Qatar 2022 is the tournament in which his incredible talent leads Brazil back to the summit of world football.
Aleksandar Mitrovic – The Fulham striker has a brilliant record of 50 goals from 76 senior international appearances, and he will be key to Serbia’s hopes at Qatar 2022.
Granit Xhaka – The hard-running midfielder remains something of a hot-head, but is enjoying a great season for Arsenal and will look to carry that form into the World Cup for Switzerland.
Vincent Aboubakar – Cameroon’s captain and leading scorer will aim to spearhead a fine showing at Qatar 2022, as the African side looks to avoid a sixth straight exit in the group stage.
Team to watch
Brazil – As five-time World Cup winners, Brazil head to every major tournament with a weight of expectation on them. However, this particular team seems to be embracing the challenge of trying to return A Selecao to the top of the tree, and their form in recent times has been absolutely brilliant. They have world-class talent throughout and the maverick genius of Neymar is the cherry on top of a fantastic football cake.
“We have more options in terms of players and our game plan,” Brazil coach Tite said. “We have different models and have made adjustments to players’ preparations. That has made a significant difference. Whoever is in will be deciding the match, all have to be prepared. Every match might require a different characteristic.”
