Police in Nsangi are holding one suspect key suspect linked to the theft of a police CCTV camera at Kabojja I Kyengera.
The accused identified as Kirumira Abdul, a resident of Kabojja “A” zone, Kasenge ward in Kyengera town council reportedly vandalized the CCTV camera on 24th January 2024, at around 6 pm. The strategically located police CCTV camera is in a hotspot area to maintain community safety.
Fred Enanga, the police mouthpiece says the CCTV camera has since been replaced and investigations are underway to ascertain whether this was an act of targeted pranks.
He has further called on the public to monitor and ensure the safety of such devices because they serve multiple purposes, including preventing crimes, detecting offenses, improving emergency response, managing public spaces, reducing fear of crime, and monitoring aspects like traffic flow, police deployments, and patrols.
