Eddy Kenzo declined showing up for Rema’s Melodies of Love concert and yes, he doesn’t regret. He explains that his snub was calculative
Songbird Rema Namakula held her mega concert on Friday at Sheraton Gardens and yes indeed it was successful.
Her fans filled up the venue to the brim, the production was on point and of course, her performance proved that she’s indeed class apart.
Rwandan singing sensation, The Ben came through and together they performed their record, ‘This Is Love’ before she welcomed her idol, Juliana Kanyomozi, who impressed with breathtaking vocals.
The Melodies of Love concert attracted A listers including Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga and other dignitaries. Notably, her colleagues such as Evelyne Namulondo, Mesach Ssemakula, who showered Rema with ‘Mazike’ as she thrilled fans on stage were in attendance.
Notably, Lydia Jazmine also showed up dazzling in a snow-white attire, with three bouncers. However, one man, Eddy Kenzo, was nowhere to be seen yet he had initially announced his attendance. Well, he has defended his snub!
On Saturday, during an interview with Galaxy TV’s budding host, Alfa Times, Kenzo explained that he never wanted to steal the show from the main act, Rema. The Grammy Award nominee claimed that his presence would put Rema’s show in jeopardy.
“I always think twice before I act, I don’t think it would have made sense for me to attend Rema’s show physically, for people to put all the cameras and attention on me forgetting the main aim of the show, to start relating me to things, I didn’t want to sabotage her show because at the end of the day, I’m a beneficiary,” Kenzo said.
