Flashy gospel star, Exodus has opened on how her mum used to vend her sumbie to make ends meet.
In a candid interview with Galaxy TV’s Mr Henrie on The Deep Talk, Exodus revealed that the mum got to the point where she had no penny to fend for her family… and vending her sumbie was the only option, so that he could make some dime to keep them in school.
The Igwe singer said that he saw and remembers this vividly because he used to see her bringing different men to their home. He went ahead to say that this is how she ended up getting infected with HIV and eventually passed away.
“My mother used to sell herself in a bid to fend for us. She got to a point where she had no job and she had to sell herself to keep us in school and also get us something to eat. I remember seeing her bringing different men to our home. This is how she actually ended up getting infected and dying,’’ the singer said.
However, netizens are bashing him for dropping a bombshell, with others advising him that some of the secrets are not worthy of being revealed.
Meanwhile, the singer also talked about how he ended up in Church. He used to be a pickpocket and gang member. However, one day, he woke up in a pool of blood as 5 of his peers had all been shot dead.
He doesn’t know how he survived and he ended up running to church to seek refuge. This is where he ended up getting born again and eventually starting music.
