Police in Kampala are investigating a Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) officer identified as Okwang Brazil for attempting to defile his own biological daughter at a construction site he was guarding.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman says a 17- year- old student filed a report with police on the 27, June 2024, indicating that her dad had tried to sexually molest her.
The girl a student who resides in Kira Central, Kira Municipality in Wakiso District, alleged that her father summoned her to visit him at his work station. Owoyesigyire says when the girl arrived at the site, the father called her to join him in his makeshift tent where he sleeps to spend the night.
She informed police that on Monday 24, 2024, while they were asleep, she realized her father was touching her inappropriately and sounded an alarm, alerting locals from within, who rescued the incident. She also managed to escape from the tent.
Brazil was consequently arrested with the help of locals, however charges to be preferred against him are awaiting the State decision, since the victim escaped before anything happened.
Owoyesigyire says that preliminary information suggests that Brazil, who was originally deployed on a mission to Somalia, used the opportunity to invite his biological daughter to visit him.
Police recovered a gun and three magazines that were handed over to the UPDF.
