A serial killer is being held by Mityana police in connection to gory killings that have occurred in the the District since 2022.
The suspect a Boda Boda rider from Buwate, Kira Municipality in the Wakiso District, is identified as Kajjaji Samuel, also known as Pastor.
The suspect has since admitted to seducing and killing the victims, during questioning.
Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson Racheal Kawala reveals that one of the incidents happened in July 12, 2022, where one Ngomba Charles Serugo, a local tycoon was murdered in cold blood by a group of unidentified goons. Serugo died instantly from deep panga wounds inflicted on his head.
His life was ended at 8:00 pm when he fell asleep in his compound, in Kabukira village, Kalangalo Subcounty.
In another incident, a 35-year-old woman and resident of Kanyogoga zone of Bukasa Parish Makindye division in the Kampala district, named RoseMary Mugabirwe, was murdered on September 30, 2023.
The woman’s body is said to have been found laying at Nzisimuheire Chris’ property by locals of Wabiyinja B village. She is said to have been raped, had various injuries, and had her sister Kyosire Grace’s phone number scrawled on her left palm.
According to investigations, two victims were reportedly enticed and killed by the suspect, in two different incidents. He lured Mugabirwe from Kabalagala-Kanyogoga to Kikandwa, Mityana District where she was raped and killed.
Another suspect Ndyayambaje Didas (32), a Boda Boda rider, was killed in Mityana by the suspect. Ndyayambaje was enticed to travel from Bukoto to Kamira Ntumbwe swamp, Kalangalo Subcounty and his motorcycle stolen.
Kawala says Kajjaji was arrested on August 6, 2024, at his residence in Buwate, Wakiso District, and is currently being held at Mityana Police Station.
