In a chat with Galaxy FM, Saint Trevor, real name Trevor Collins Ariho, reveals his background, inspirations, achievements, and future ambitions of sharing a stage with Wizkid.
Who is Saint Trevor?
I am Trevor Collins Ariho, a rising emcee and event host in Uganda steadily growing to make an impact in the entertainment industry. I am a third born (out of four boys) to Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus Havuga, a proud Mufumbira and Catholic.
When did the emceeing journey start for you?
I started emceeing in 2014 while in high school. I grew up in the game as an underground emcee in F.6 vac at the Ten Over Ten bar, Waikiki bar, and then while at campus, I tried out Valhalla, and Trendz, till I found my way up to mainstream success.
Today, I work on bar nights and major events around town. You’ve probably caught me hyping up Bar nights at Thrones, Aura, Silo, and events like Nyege Nyege, ShoNale, Sounds of Sezibwa, Tusker Lite Neon Rave, Guinness match day.
I have also emceed at corporate gigs such as UCC (SIMU KLEAR), UNRA, Tubayo Market Day, and Q-connect.
Achievements?
If you ask me what I’m most proud of, it’s growing from an underground hype man to one of Uganda’s go-to emcees. That feeling of stepping onto a stage, owning the crowd, and knowing that my energy sets the vibe is unmatched.
Who inspires you?
Growing up, I wanted to be a superstar. Wizkid was (and still is) my idol. My boys had no choice but to listen to Wizkid because of me. Fast forward to today, I’m living my superstar hours, turning up the mic just like I always dreamed.
What are some of the major events you have performed at?
I’ve been blessed to perform at some of Uganda’s biggest events and share the stage with some of the best performers in UG such as Nyege Nyege (2023), ShoNale (2024), Tusker Lite Neon Rave (2023, 2024), UCC (SIMU KLEAR).
I’ve shared stages with some international acts; Ric Hassani (Nigeria) at ShoNale, Kamo Phela (South Africa) at Tusker Lite Neon Rave, Joeboy at Lavida Boy, and Cindy at Tusker Lite Neon Rave Kasese.
What are you currently working on?
I’m focused on perfecting my craft and leveling up as an emcee, event host, and brand influencer. I believe that a great event isn’t just about the music—it’s about the energy and that’s where I come in!
What drives you every day?
Honestly? God. I still don’t know how I’ve managed to stay in this industry for years but here I am. Of course, the dream of hitting international stages keeps me hungry, especially knowing I could share a stage with Wizkid one day—that’s the goal!
What does the near future look like for Saint Trevor?
I’m working on Superstar Hours – a rave experience about good music, vibes, and turning up like never before featuring DJs, emcees, and dancers. It’s a mix of local and international acts and different music genres, and we set out to hold it across Uganda’s top clubs and destinations.
It’s more than a party—it’s a movement. Watch this space!
