Disturbing videos circulating on TikTok have sparked fears that locals in Nsangi, Buddo, are being targeted by individuals posing as police officers.

Buddo locals have taken to tik tok alleging that youths are being dragged into vehicles, paraded with machetes and pangas, and forced to take photos in front of Nakasozi Police Post.

Eyewitnesses are terrified, claiming that this is part of a sinister plot to frame innocent locals for serious crimes, similar to the case of the late Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya and Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana who were accused of instigating machete murders in the Greater Masaka Region .

The locals whose videos have since gone viral, allege that these unsettling scenes have left the community on edge, with many fearing they could be next.

Speaking from the Police Headquarters in Naguru, Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma replayed a section of the videos to journalists before addressing the shocking claims. Kituuma reassured the public that investigations are underway.

Kituuma also clarified that the Nakasozi Police Post is under renovation, and the police are currently operating from the Budo King’s College Police Post.

He warned that while the videos may seem like the work of “reckless individuals,” there could be a darker, organized agenda behind them, potentially involving political manipulation or even criminal activity.

“But on the other side, as security, we don’t take their messages lightly because there might be some organized people behind them trying to send either political messages or actually real criminal. This could be some kind of reverse psychology at play. Anything is possible.” he said

The police spokesperson however warned that action will be taken against those spreading the information, should investigations return otherwise.

“But what we are wanting is should we find anybody behind this? If we find these allegations false and intended to be alarmist, some people are going to really answer. And that’s the message I would like to pass on.”
