It’s a do-or-die moment at UMA Grounds, Lugogo, as thousands of Senior Five hopefuls jostle for places in the country’s top secondary schools.
The selection exercise, running from February 20-21, 2025, has drawn a crowd after the transitions into a new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at ‘O’-Level.
According to UNEB, 357,120 candidates sat for their UCE exams, with only 2,297 missing in action. With performance as the key determinant, the battle lines have been drawn, who will land spots in elite schools, and who will have to settle for less.
Education Minister Janet Museveni has assured parents and students of a “fair and transparent” process.
“This exercise determines the future of our students,” she emphasized, urging all stakeholders to remain patient and cooperative.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has set March 3, 2025, as the reporting date for Senior Five. This means students have just days to prepare for the next phase of their education journey.
