Police in Jinja have set the record straight after false reports claimed a woman in Nawampanda Parish, Butagaya Sub-county, chopped off her husband’s private parts in a domestic fight.
According to Kiira Regional Police spokesperson SP James Mubi, the rumors are completely false and should be ignored. The real story, it’s a bizarre fight over old boxers.
On March 10, Nicholas Dhabuliwo (31), a traditional herbalist, returned home drunk and demanded his wife, Fatuma Naigaga (23), hand over his three old boxers. She complied, but he insisted there was a fourth pair missing—one he believed carried supernatural powers to boost his prosperity in Busoga.
When Fatuma couldn’t find it, Dhabuliwo turned violent, beating her up. In self-defense, she stabbed him three times in the chest and once in the arm. He was rushed to a health facility, but is now out of danger and recovering at home.
To silence the rumors, police confirmed that Dhabuliwo’s private parts are safe and untouched. His wife, however, is in custody at CPS Buwenge as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Jinja police are planning to engage traditional herbalists on safe business practices after this shocking incident linked to superstition.
SP Mubi urged the public to avoid spreading fake news, saying misinformation weakens the country’s security, economy, and reputation.
