Canon Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports, has delivered a strong message to young girls to stay pure until marriage.

Preaching at Mary’s Day celebrations at Kirigime Church of Uganda in Kabale Municipality, Dr. Turyagyenda called on girls to follow the example of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who remained pure and steadfast in her faith.

“Girls should say NO and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, just as Mary did,” she declared,

Turyagyenda asked them to value their virginity as a sign of self-respect and obedience to God’s commandments.

Dr. Turyagyenda challenged the congregation to uphold moral discipline and live by the Ten Commandments, warning that societal pressures and bodily changes should not lead young girls astray.

“Hold onto your values, stay disciplined, and maintain moral integrity in today’s challenging world.” she added

The Mary’s Day celebrations at Kirigime Church were packed with prayers, powerful sermons, and calls for moral responsibility. Attendees were urged to uphold Christian values and instill discipline in their communities.
