Music sensation, Ray G, has called upon Ugandans to raise UGX 1 billion in appreciation of legendary artist Jose Chameleone’s immense contribution to Uganda’s music industry.

Taking to social media, Ray G rallied fans with a powerful message celebrating Chameleone’s legacy:

“The Ugandan music industry thrives today because HE sparked the fire! HE carries the Uganda flag on every stage. HE is coming home soon. Let’s give back to him with overwhelming love by raising UGX 1 billion for @JChameleone.”

The campaign, tagged #1BillionForChameleone, aims to show gratitude to the Leone Island boss for decades of dedication and impact on Uganda’s music scene.

Ray G emphasized that the goal is achievable with collective effort, stating in a follow-up post:

“It takes UGX 1000 from only 1 million fans to raise the amount. Together we can!”

Jose Chameleone, who has been receiving specialized treatment in the United States, is expected to return to Uganda this week.

The music legend left Uganda in December 2024 and has been undergoing care ever since.

Sources confirm that Chameleone is expected to land at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday, 10th April, at 5:30 PM.
