Renowned singer, music producer, and talent manager Benon Mugumbya has revealed that the name Swangz Avenue was originally created by veteran producer Steve Jean.
“It is Steve Jean who came up with the name Swangz Avenue. Vampos will have to correct me if I am wrong,” Benon said during a recent interview on Galaxy TV, giving credit to one of Uganda’s music pioneers.
Benon further shared that the name Swangz Avenue became popular among their circle of friends and fellow musicians.
Even when the business relocated to the Muyenga area after partnering with Julius Kyazze, the name remained the same and continued to grow in recognition.
Over the years, Swangz Avenue has developed into one of the top audio and film production companies in Kampala, Uganda, and across East Africa.
The company now specializes in video production, television commercial (TVC) production, events promotion, and talent management.
With a reputation for nurturing top talent and producing high-quality content, Swangz Avenue remains a key player in the region’s entertainment industry.
