As pressure mounts from the public to free Bobi wine, Opposition presidential candidates have added their voice to demand the immediate release of their colleague Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine was arrested on Wednesday by police as he tried to hold a campaign rally in Luuka district, defying Electoral commission guidelines on only hosting 200 persons.

Bobi wine is currently still detained at Nalufenya prison in Jinja where he was transferred to 3 hours ago at about 1 PM and is yet to be charged.
Opposition candidates have condemned the manner of arrest that saw the military and police forcefully breaking Bobi’s ride before grabbing him out like a chicken thief.

Gen Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation -ANT says the continued harassment and arrest of Bobi Wine is boiling Uganda to a breaking point.
“The impunity with which security operatives are operating in the continued harassment and now arrest of Hon. Kyagulanyi is leading this country closer towards a breaking point. We join @NUP_Ug and all fair-minded Ugandans in calling upon his immediate release,” Muntu said in a statement.

Gen Henry Tumukunde-Independent also demanded the immediate release of Bobi Wine.
” We are at a turning point in the history of our country but the manner in which authorities are operating shows blatant disregard of the current state of affairs. We join other political leaders to unequivocally call for the immediate release of National Unity Platform Pres. candidate Bobi Wine. ”

The Democratic Party (DP) presidential flag bearer Norbert Mao vowed not to rest until Bobi is released,he instructed his lawyer Luyimbazi Nalukoola to take legal steps to ensure Bobi’s release.
“I have instructed the DP National Legal Advisor Counsel Luyimbazi Nalukoola to take legal steps to ensure that the NUP Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi who is in detention is released from custody immediately, “Mao said .
