Lukwago was discharged on Sunday from the Agakhan hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted for close to a week after being diagnosed with a life-threatening condition.

He touched ground on Monday morning at Entebbe Airport in the company of his wife, where he was welcomed by family and a few staff from KCCA.

“Thanks be to God. The Lord Mayor His Worship Elias Lukwago is back from Nairobi where he had been referred for further treatment and management,” The office of the Lord Mayor said in a statement on Monday.

Lukwago was recommended for further treatment to Nairobi by medics from Rubaga hospital after he was found to have acute anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis causes your immune system to release a flood of chemicals that can cause you to go into shock — your blood pressure drops suddenly and your airways narrow, blocking breathing.

Lukwago set off on November 24, 2020, leaving the public trembling and unsure of what state he will return in.

He kept updating the public on his condition while in hospital, saying he was stable and recovering.

However, on Saturday, rumors made rounds on social media that Lukwago had died but this was dispelled sooner than later by members of his inner circle , pronouncing he would be back home after a great recovery.

”As we all know Kampala lord mayor’s SSALONGO Erias LUKWAGo been down for quite a number of weeks at Agakhan hospital Nairobi, the good news is he was discharged yesterday and we expect him to come back tomorrow at 9 am in shaa Allah Am here to Request all of you to join us well come him and later have Media brief and Duwa at his home Wakaliga 11 am to thank Allah for his Life again.” a statement the office of the Lord Mayor.

He will be addressing the media today at his home in Wakaliga.
