Frank Tumwebaze Minister for Gender, labour, and social development minister has a message for NRM Koboko MP candidate Charles Ayume who was endorsed by National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine on Tuesday.

Tumwebaze doesn’t seem too excited by Kyagulanyi’s interference in NRM affairs.

He says this could be a carefully designed move to wreak havoc in the NRM camp instead.

It could be seen as an endorsement on the face of it, but when actually it is a calculated spoiling tactic of the opposition against Dr. Charles Ayume and the NRM. It could be intended to cause rifts among the NRM supporters in Koboko,” NRM supporters should discern such tricks and reject them.” he said. “

Kyagulanyi approved Ayume to a massive crowd of his supporters in Koboko who cheered back in acceptance.

I have not met him, but I want you to tell him that I have been watching him and I respect him. I want to ask you, people of Koboko, to vote for that young man, I know he might not say anything good about me, but I understand.” Kyagulanyi said.

Ayume beat Minister for investment and Privatization Anite Evelyn to the post in highly contested NRM primaries in September.

Anite had accused Ayume of ferrying his supporters’ from South Sudan to beat her at the game.

She however later conceded defeat and resolved not to run against him as an independent.

Anite has been accused of campaigning for the Independent candidate, Charles Yakani against her party candidate
