President Yoweri Museveni has given assurance to the public that the 2021 general polls will be peaceful
“Nobody is going to disturb our elections. Anybody who will try will fail. Let everyone follow the law, then there will be peace,” Museveni said.
The NRM chairperson says that his party stands for peace and that is what they have fought at for years.
“Elections will be peaceful because that’s what we fought for. We’ve been fighting for over 40 years. he added.
He was speaking on Friday at a national thanksgiving prayer event at State House Entebbe,
Museveni didn’t seem shaken by the western forces says foreigners are working with local opportunists and giving drugs like marijuana and Opuim to street kids
”Now we’re in touch with them (street children). When I brought the likes of Full Figure & Buchaman, I was attacked by the structures. They wondered why I was dealing with them but I told them that it was because they were not reaching out to them (street children).”Museveni added.
He went on to describe the opposition as a useless and disruptive batch
Museveni went on to explain that the chaos originated from the rightful arrest of Presidential candidate Bobi Wine who was not following campaign guidelines.”
In the violence where 54 people died, Museveni noted that 32 of the victims were actively engaged in the riots, while 22 were innocents killed by stray bullets.
I want the analysis of the stray bullets that killed about 22 people [of the 58 people] that died during the November 18/19 protests. If it is the security forces that were in wrong, we shall deal with them. You know how our forces uphold discipline.”he added
