Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine will on Tuesday at 9 am appear before the Electoral Commission to harmonize a way forward following complaints of disregarding guidelines in addition to his challenges.
Kyagulanyi failed to turn up today because he was campaigning in parts of Karamoja and northern Uganda and didn’t want to miss it.
This afternoon, Mathias Mpuuga the NUP chairperson for central, Joel Ssenyonyi, the spokesperson, Lewis Rubongoya the secretary-general, Medard Segona the NUP lawyer among others interacted with the opposition on behalf of the NUP party president Kyagulayi Robert Sentamu , who is busy campaigning in Northern Uganda.
Mpuuga says they discussed with the EC officials the grievances that Kyagulanyi faces during his country-wide campaigns and it was agreed that he personally meets the EC to harmonize a way forward.
He says among other things talked about is the brutal conduct of security forces like the military and police that has consistently blocked Kyagulanyi’s campaigns and tear-gassed his supporters, how Bob and his campaign team cannot access accommodation and refusal of their candidate to access the airwaves on local radio stations and TV’s.
After meeting the EC, Kyagulanyi will head to western Uganda to continue his campaigns.
