The first son Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has earned himself a promotion as Commander of Special Forces Command (SFC).
He has been duly appointed by President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday.
Since 2017 to date, Gen Muhoozi has been serving as Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, a position he will keep while dealing with his promotion.
This is not the first time Muhoozi is working in the SFC, prior to his recent appointment, he was serving
Gen Muhoozi previously served as SFC Commander before he was appointed as Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations in 2017, a position he has been holding to date.

Muhoozi now replaces Maj Gen James Birungi who has been commanding the elite force since last year.
The Special Forces Group, which contains the unit known as Presidential Guard Brigade is responsible for providing security to the President of Uganda and to Uganda’s constitutional monarchs, from 2008 to 2017.
The Commander on Chief of Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has also appointed Brig Paul Loketch as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP). He replaces Maj Gen Muzeyi Sabiiti who has been sent to the General Headquarters for redeployment.
Gen Birungi has been appointed the New Airforce boss, a position which had been held by the new Deputy IGP Loketch.
