Forum for Democratic Change -FDC presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat on Monday survived arrest after a security team deployed to target him overturned in Kyegegwa district during his campaigns.
The police patrol van with armed security personnel both cops and military were on a mission to chase and halt Amuriat by the time it veered off the road.
Preliminary findings suggest that the patrol truck failed to brake causing the driver to lose control, sending the ride into a swampy roadside.
3 cops and 2 military officers sustained injuries at Kyatega Village.
However, instead of proceeding on his campaign trail, a sympathetic Amuriat rushed out of his ride and helped to rescue his hunters.
Amuriat personally helped lift the injured security personnel onto another van before they were taken for treatment.
“Our team had to actively involve in evacuating the victims. Building A New Uganda,” a member of Amuriat’s team said.
