Ashraf Kasirye the Ghetto Tv journalist who sustained serious injuries to his head from an explosive device has suffered brain damage.
The National Unity Platform-NUP strongman Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has confirmed the unfortunate news on Tuesday while addressing a presser at the party head office in Kamwokya.
Kyagulanyi says Kasirye’s brain has been shuttered after his skull broke into pieces, leading to brain damage.
”The doctors have told us that the object shuttered and broke into many pieces” They were able to remove blood from his brain but they informed us that he may not be able to open his eyes or speak for weeks, He will also not be able to recognize people or speak words he understands for some time”Kyagulanyi said
Kasirye was hit with an explosive device to the head on Sunday in Masaka, as cops tried to disperse NUPsupporters in campaigns that turned chaotic.
He was taken to Masaka hospital in a critical position before being rushed to Rubaga hospital where he is currently admitted.
Contrary to police reports he was hit by a teargas canister, Kyagulanyi says his journalist was shot at close range with a rubber bullet.
