The lifeless body of the National boxing champion skipper Zebra Ssenyange alias Mando remains at Mulago City mortuary for a postmortem as police investigate his mysterious demise.

Zebra was viscously gunned down on Wednesday at about 12:50 am about 400 meters from his residence at St Francis Zone, Bwaise III Parish by unknown goons.

A Facebook post on the deceased’s account shows his lifeless body in a pool of blood while alleging that he was consciously killed by military cops.

“I hereby announce the death of Zebra Mando Ssenyange today at around 12:30 am by military operatives near his home. He was chased from his house in Bwaise and shot dead in a corridor in his neighborhood. A statement made by Zebra Jr.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigire however says that is false information and that Zebra was killed by goons on the run.

“The assailants, not known in number, were traveling in two vehicles. Ssenyange was later shot about 400 meters away from his home and he died instantly,” Owoyesigyire says.

However, Police say Zebra was plucked from his residence by unknown goons on the run during the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

He says area police have already visited the scene and crucial pieces of evidence and cartridges have been recovered.

The deceased was a former trainer of National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine and a former Bombers’ captain.
