NUP darling, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is not happy with his disgruntled disciples for smearing NBS TV and all it’s associates with cow-dung after mega fall out.
Bobi Wine made his beef with NBS publicly known last week when he penned down a letter in which he accused the TV station of working in the interest of Sevo in the 14th January presidential polls.
Like loyal disciples, NUP supporters amplified Bobi’s voice as they started a campaign to unfollow, attack and boycott everything affiliated to the Naguru based station. The disciples wanted Kin Kariisa’s men to do as Bobi wished; to either explain to the public why they formed an ‘illegal election tally center’ or else they apologize to Ugandans. However with all the threats and insults flooding like Japanese Tsunami, Kin Kariisa’s men stood their ground and refused to back down!
In a statement issued on Monday, NBS described the allegations as baseless and unfounded because it has consistently provided equal opportunity to all political players irrespective of their inclinations.
To resolve the matter and mend the broken relationship, while addressing the Media yesterday, Bobi ordered his already charged disciples to withdraw and forgive Kin’s men. The pop-star cum opposition honcho stated that he has never ordered them to attack or even boycott NBS.
“We didn’t call for any protest against NBS. We didn’t call for any boycott and we didn’t call for any hatred,”he said.
He explained to the media that his disciples who are calling for NBS journalists’ heads should remember that some of them put their lives on the line as they covered him on his campaign trail.
“I will not shy away from saying that this is one of the television stations whose journalists stood with us in the tough time during our campaigns and some of them were seriously injured while executing their duty with truth honor, truth and transparency,”he said.
He also distanced himself and the party from allegations that they are mobilizing to carry out nationwide riots starting today.
