Uganda Police Re-brands
The Uganda police force has officially discarded 4 uniforms and re branded.
Assistant Inspector-General of Police- AIGP Asan Kasingye,made the announcement on Monday morning at the police headquaters in Naguru.
This means that Uganda will now retain 13 official uniforms out of the previous 17.
AIGP Kasingye who doubles as the chairman of the police uniform committee says ays all the uniforms have been made by the force’s garment factory.
Those removed include the white traffic, Brown camouflage won by the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) officers, the blue Marine police uniform, and the dark blue uniforms won by Aviation Police Officers.
ASP Kasingye says traffic police personnel will now wear a khaki uniform, accompanied by an ashy beret while female traffic officers will be wearing khaki and white caps.
Uganda Police Re-brands
The Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) officers, will now be wearing the Field Force Unit camouflage uniform.
The council also resolved to design uniforms, particularly for females as opposed to giving them general uniforms.

Each police personnel including detectives will be availed 2 pairs of uniforms because detectives no longer receive allowances to buy casual clothes.
