Rumors Oulanyah Is Ill
Parliament has thrown out negative rumors circulating on social media concerning speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah ‘s health.
Oulanyah was last spotted at Kololo ceremonial grounds o June 10th during the 2021/2022 budget reading.
His Deputy Anita Among chaired the house during the approval of the new Vice president and prime minister .
He was also noticeably absent at the swearing-in ceremony of the recently appointed and duly approved Cabinet Ministers at Kololo on Monday.
Yesterday social media blew up with sympathy messages after unfounded reports emerged that the speaker was in a critical state and preparations were underway to transfer him for treatment abroad.
Rumors Oulanyah Is Ill
However , credible sources have confirmed otherwise saying Oulanyah is well and working from home.
Parliament’s Director of Communication and Public Affairs Chris Obore, says the Speaker is fine and having alone time with his family at home.
”Following a year of intense political campaigns keeping the Rt Hon Speaker away from his home for months, he is taking some time to be with his family,” Obore says
Obore explains that all is well except for another fact that the role of chairing the august house is a shared responsibility.
”Rt Hon Speaker and Rt Hon Deputy Speaker now take turns to conduct house business ,in keeping with the presidential guidelines on Covid 19 ,Parliament is from the top leadership scaling down physical presence at work.”Obore explained
