Distressed Forum for Democratic Change -FDC’sProscovia Salaamu Musumba, has developed cold feet and withdrawn an election petition against Minister Rebbecca Kadaga.
Kadaga is currently the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Affairs Minister while Musumba serves as vice president for the opposition FDC.
Musumba filed a petition challenging Kadaga’s victory in the recently concluded polls for Kamuli District Woman Member of Parliament.
Musumba appeared in the civil division of the High court today for the alpha hearing of the case, only to withdraw her petition.
Musumba who appeared alone in court with her lawyer Isabirye wished to withdraw the petition even before it was heard by the presiding justice Isa Sserunkuma.

A visibly frustrated Musumba run to the Jinja high court challenging Kadaga on grounds that the election was marred with several irregularities like ballot stuffing, bribery, forceful voter inflation among others
Musumba petitioned the high court to declare the January 14th polls null and void and order a re-run.
Kadaga polled 92,388 votes against Musumba’s 26,851
She further stated that the Electoral Commission (EC) returning officer for Kamuli District arbitrarily and irregularly declared Kadaga.
By the time of filing this story, the case proceedings were still underway.
