Qute Kaye Narrates First Encounter With Drugs
Celebrated Ugandan musician has narrated his very first encounter with weed.
Until recently, Kaye was stuck in the world of drugs. It climaxed when he was caught stealing car lights.
According to Kaye, he first smoked around about 2009.
”I smoked on my way to perform at a birthday party. I wish I knew what I knew then,” he told Roger Otis on the Galaxy Doctor.

Between Kitintale and Namugongo where he was to perform, he was driving, and reached safely. However, he felt hunger was at the verge of killing him. At the party, there was no food. Only booze was vailable. A search for food within Namugongo yielded no fruit. They walked to Kireka and found ‘Katogo’ along the railway line. He could not drive.
”I felt better after eating,” Kaye recalls. He says that they walked back to Namugongo, and performed.
