SuperSport viewers can look forward to a feast of sporting entertainment over the next coming weeks ranging from title deciders culminating in the Currie Cup final on 24 June.

With football crowning no fewer than 10 champions, including the UEFA Champions League victors (10 June), it is a moment unlike any other. In a titanic clash of aesthetics, Manchester City and Inter Milan will compete for glory in Istanbul.

Equally so, the FA Cup final, on 3 June, promises to be just as sumptuous with a Manchester derby providing a fitting finale to one of football’s oldest, and most treasured, competitions. Closer to home, there is the Nedbank Cup final where giant killers Sekhukhune United take on the mighty Orlando Pirates in Pretoria for national bragging rights.

Rugby fans can settle in for a wild month, which starts on Friday with the EPCR Challenge Cup final and concludes with the Vodacom URC final in Cape Town, where the defending champion Stormers will try to defend their title against the perilous Munster, one week later. The Currie Cup final takes place on 24 June with the Pumas going all-out to defend the crown they won in storybook fashion last season.

Cricket traditionalists have the final of the ICC Test Championship to savour, a showdown between heavyweights Australia and India at The Oval beginning on June 11. Not forgetting the IPL final (28 May) that never fails to deliver explosive batting and heroic bowling.

Rafael Nadal, who is tied with Novak Djokovi for the most major singles championships (22) and has the chance to seize the overall lead in Paris, will play host to the second tennis major of the year at Roland Garros. He can also add to his incredible total of 14 French Open victories, which is unimaginably high and unlikely to be topped anytime soon. Poland’s Iga Świątek, the world number one, has already won three majors and will be defending her crown.
