One person has been left injured following an accident involving one of the buses belonging to Global Bus Company.
On August 28th, 2023, at around 11:00 a.m., a serious accident occurred along the Kampala-Mbarara Road. The incident involved a Global bus with registration number UBB 985M. The driver lost control due to the slippery road conditions caused by heavy rain. The accident happened at Kyekurura, shortly after Kinoni Center in Lwengo District, part of Greater Masaka.
One person sustained serious injuries in the accident.
SP Twaha Kasirye, the Regional Police Spokesman, confirmed the incident in a statement. Local authorities and bystanders swiftly responded, transporting the injured individuals to nearby health centers.
“Ambulances are waiting to transfer them to Masaka Referral Hospital for further medical attention,” Kasirye said.
He cautioned all drivers, particularly on slippery roads during this rainy season, to avoid speeding to prevent such accidents.
