The first and last time legendary band UB40 performed in Uganda, Reasons was their hottest jam at the time but they did not perform it.
Whether it was intentional or not, many were left disappointed.
The show that arguably had the biggest crowd at Lugogo Cricket Oval came at a time when the group was disbanding perhaps more reason for the big turn-up.
Fifteen years since, the English reggae and pop band, formed in December 1978 in Birmingham, England returns to Uganda in a monumental fusion of entertainment and media prowess to create yet again an unforgettable experience for Uganda.
The band has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart and has also achieved considerable international success.
Aly Allibhai, the CEO of Talent Africa Group who are art of the organizer, said, “We’re looking forward to being part of this big project. It’s a monumental partnership and undoubtedly the biggest event of the year. To see our partnership culminate in something of this magnitude is truly awe-inspiring.”
The seven-band group will be performing at Uganda’s Kololo Airstrip on December 21 in an initiative designed to celebrate, explore, love, and inspire hope throughout Uganda. It’s also aimed at showcasing the vibrant spirit of Ugandan celebration and providing a unique opportunity to witness how Uganda unites in joy and festivity.
