Police in Mityana CPS are holding a suspect identified as Muwanga Joseph Kisenyi, for the ritualistic murder of his 19-year-old wife, Nakamatte Jesca.
The incident happened in Kitavujja LCI, Ssekanyonyi town council, last week of October 2023.
Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region Police Spokesperson says the lifeless body of the woman was discovered in their rental premises on 7.11.2023, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood.
She says investigators who visited the crime scene found Nakamatte’s body locked in the house, sprawled on the bed, and infested with maggots. Disturbingly, vital body parts like her nose and tongue were missing.
Kawala says the remains of Nakamatte were handed over to grieving relatives for a final farewell after a postmortem.
Now, the manhunt for Muwanga is in full swing.
