Thousands of students, staff, alumni, and well-wishes of Makerere university braved the morning rains to take part in Makerere University Run, a fundraising event organized by the Makerere University Endowment Fund (MakEF).
This year’s edition of the Mak Run has had runners take on the 21km, 10km, and 5-kilometer races, flagged off by the deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa at the Makerere University Freedom Square. On the same occasion, Tayebwa officially opened the Disability Support Unit, located on the Ground Floor of the Frank Kalimuzo Central Teaching Facility.
The marathon is aimed at raising funds to set up convenient facilities for people living with physical disabilities.
