This year, the search for Africa’s next big music stars particularly in the EAST AFRICAN REGION. This year’s competition kicks off on the 6th – 7th November 2024, and promises to be more electrifying than ever with a new slogan, Bongo Star Search Season 15 ‘Beyond Borders, Si Mchezo!’

Since its inception, Bongo Star Search has been a launching pad for emerging artists, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain nationwide recognition. Previous contestants have gone on to achieve remarkable success in the music and entertainment industry, making this competition a vital part of Tanzania’s entertainment landscape. Now we want to be part of East Africa’s History.

This season, Bongo star search is going Beyond its original border confinements where contestants will have the chance to perform live in front of a panel of esteemed judges, including renowned artists and industry professionals. Participants will be evaluated on their vocal abilities, stage presence, and overall performance skills. All successful contestants from Uganda, will be flown to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the crucial elimination phase

Key Details of the Bongo Star Search 2024

Auditions: Open auditions will take place from 23rd – 24th November 2024 at Kati Kati Restaurant, Kampala City.

Judging Panel: Join our esteemed panel of judges, featuring (Rita Paulsen, Lilian Mbabazi, Master J, Salama Jabir and S2KZY), who will offer valuable feedback and mentorship.

Grand Finale: The grand finale will be held on 28-02-2025 at Mlimani City, culminating in a spectacular live performance.

“We are very happy to be here today with our hosts, StarTimes Uganda, and also our long-time partner, Bongo Star Search (BSS).

We have been working together for the past five years now, with BSS being one of the longest-running local reality shows. Since BSS joined our platform, it has brought great success to our beloved ST Swahili channel,” said David Malisa, Director of Marketing and Content at StarTimes Tanzania.

“As BSS celebrates 15 years, it is the longest-running reality show not only in Tanzania but possibly in East Africa as well. Today is the official day we are launching BSS Season 15 in Uganda. If you have a talent for singing, this is your chance, as the BSS team and judges will return on the 23rd and 24th November for auditions at Kati kati Restaurant, Lugogo Bypass, Kampala. Five contestants from Uganda will be selected to join others from Kenya and Tanzania for the finals in Dar es Salaam,” added David.

On the 23rd and 24th of November, doors will be open from 6AM for auditions, and our judges will be from Tanzania, including local judge Lilian Mbabazi from Blu 3, from Uganda.
