Drama erupted in Lweza village, Mukono Central Division, when a heated argument over intimacy turned violent, leaving a couple hospitalized and the police involved.

Rachel Nantale, popularly known as Nakalema, is in police custody after she allegedly assaulted her husband, John Ssemambo, during a dispute over marital duties. The row reportedly began when Ssemambo demanded intimacy late at night, a request Nantale flatly rejected.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the argument quickly spiraled out of control, with Nantale attacking Ssemambo and injuring his private parts. In an attempt to defend himself, Ssemambo reportedly retaliated by stabbing Nantale in the chin.

Neighbors rushed to break up the scuffle, and the couple was immediately taken to Mukono General Hospital for treatment. Speaking from his hospital bed, Ssemambo shared his frustration:

I asked her for intimacy, but she declined. When I insisted, she attacked me. I can no longer live with her under the same roof.”

The embattled couple, who share one child, now face an uncertain future. While Ssemambo openly declared his intention to end the marriage, Nantale remained tight-lipped about the incident.

Joseph Kamukanda, the defense secretary for Lweza cell, condemned the violence, urging couples to resolve disputes amicably.
“This act is unacceptable. Couples must seek peaceful ways to address their issues rather than resorting to violence,” Kamukanda said.

Police have also issued a stern warning to couples, stressing the importance of seeking professional help. Onyango advised partners to consult counselors, religious leaders, or the Child and Family Protection Unit to prevent such incidents.
“Allowing anger to escalate into physical violence can lead to devastating consequences, including death or murder charges,” Onyango cautioned.
