The National Unity Platform (NUP) has issued a call for its members to express interest in flying the party flag for two key by-election positions , the Kawempe North Member of Parliament and Kazo-Angola Ward Councillor L.C.3.
According to a statement signed by the party’s Election Management Committee (EMC) Chairperson, Mercy Walukamba, applications will be accepted starting Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM, and will close on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
The EMC has urged party members who meet the qualifications to physically submit their applications at the NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule. Applicants are required to include copies of their NUP Membership Card, National ID, Curriculum Vitae, and certified academic documents.
Walukamba revealed that nominated candidates will be officially announced on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
This latest announcement sets the stage for a heated contest as NUP looks to defend its stronghold in Kawempe North and expand its reach in Kazo-Angola Ward.
