This year’s exams were nothing short of historic, with 379,748 candidates sitting across 4,168 centers nationwide. Out of these, 369,601 students were pioneers of the brand-new Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC), which focuses on practical skills and competency-based learning.
In a one-time twist, 10,147 students from the old curriculum also sat for a special transitional exam, designed for those looking to improve grades or make up for missed opportunities.
The results will shine a spotlight on how well Uganda’s education system is adapting to its new direction. From Universal Secondary Education (USE) schools to private institutions, the nation waits anxiously to see how students have performed.
